Vacancies

As part of your fire strategy, you need to communicate to your employee’s important information through signage throughout the space being occupied.

What do fire safety signs communicate?

As part of your fire strategy, you need to communicate to your employees important information, such as:

  • Fire Action signs that describe what to do in the event of a fire.
  • Extinguisher Identification signs that show which fire extinguisher is designed to fight what type of fire.
  • Fire evacuation and escape directional signs that highlight the designated escape routes out of the building.
  • Fire assembly point signs that display where the designated muster/assembly points are located.
  • Fire equipment location signs, to highlight the presence firefighting equipment such as extinguishers, fire alarm call points, dry risers etc.

Do I need fire signage in my building?

In a word yes! Signage is used to highlight key aspects of the building in the event of an emergency. You need to be able to demonstrate and highlight escape routes, firefighting equipment and importantly what the procedure is in the event of a fire.

Do I need a regular review of the signage in my building?

You must carry out a fire risk assessment for your building, this should be reviewed regularly – 12 to 18 months is recommended as a guideline. The risk assessment will highlight any deficiencies in fire signage. As an extinguisher service provider, we will address any fire signage as part of the service.

We can also provide specific signage survey for your site if you require it. All the signs we supply are photoluminescent and conform to BS 5499.
