Emergency First Aid at Work

Duration: 3 days

Designed for customers wishing to act as an emergency first aider for their workplace in line with HSE recommendations.

By the end of this course, learners will be proficient to deal with

• Deal with an unresponsive and breathing adult
• Deal with seizures
• Administer CPR
• Deal with a choking adult
• Deal with bleeding, blisters, splinters, bruises, nosebleeds, burns, shock
• Accident recording and reporting

Workplace First Aid

Duration: 3 days

These first aid courses are applicable, if you have determined that your organisation needs one or more trained First Aiders that require a higher level of training.

By the end of this course, learners will be proficient in the following:

• Understanding workplace first aid regulations.
• Know how to conduct a primary survey on a casualty.
• Know how to administer CPR to a casualty.
• Know how to put casualties in the recovery position.
• Be able to deal with and respond to choking, wounds, bleeding and shock.
• Be able to deal with and respond to burns, eye and head injuries, fractures and dislocations.
• Know how to care for people suffering from asthma attacks, allergic reactions, nosebleeds, diabetic emergencies, epileptic seizures, heart attacks and strokes.
• Be able to deal with and respond to hyperventilation, fainting, sprains and strains, poisoning and drowning.
• Understand the importance of record keeping.
